I sit down to write something, ANYthing about the ways things are.
….hmm I’m not the most reliable reporter (narrate now that’s funny)
better atbat shit poetry
So I’m going to write about facts mixed in with feelings
which is really just to say I’m going to write about my reality, from me.
What is happening:
Donald Trump has signed a wide-ranging executive order, halting all refugee admissions and barring people from seven Muslim-majority countries. This xenophobic, malevolent, and white nationalist-inspired act is an affront to any citizen living in this land. I won’t say an affront to “our nation’s values” because what are those?
What are “our nation’s values” then?
True, true… we were getting better.
But I’m not so sure…
let’s just keep going,
Trump also banned federal money going to international groups which perform or provide information on abortions. The Global Gag Rule was first introduced in 1984 at an United Nations International Conference held in Mexico City. The policy has been a barrier to comprehensive women’s health care on a global scale and it was made U.S. policy through an executive order issued by Ronald Reagan.
It restricts family planning providers from offering comprehensive health care and denies international family planning organizations the right to provide abortion-related information to their patients and clients. It also restricts organizations from providing referrals, legal abortions, or advocating for the legalization of abortion in their country.
The global community will now see increases in maternal deaths, unintended pregnancies, and rates of unsafe abortion.
The policy infringes upon a woman’s right to make an informed decision about her body and health. It denies women access to comprehensive sexual and reproductive health care.
Although this policy does not directly affect services in the US, Mr Trump has said he supports an abortion ban at home.
His signing of this order as one of his first executive actions indicates he still sees the issue as a priority.
I did find this response- The Global Health, Empowerment, and Rights (HER) Act, after much searching
This whole business is not encouraging.
Let me try again.
Controversial oil pipelines – Keystone XL and the Dakota Access project – if American steel is used.
“President Trump is legally required to honor our treaty rights and provide a fair and reasonable pipeline process,” Dave Archambault II, chairman of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe, said today. “Americans know this pipeline was unfairly rerouted towards our nation and without our consent. The existing pipeline route risks infringing on our treaty rights, contaminating our water and the water of 17 million Americans downstream.”
wall – to be built on the US’s southern border.
Donald Trump has set in motion his plan to build an “impenetrable, physical, tall, powerful, beautiful, southern border wall” between the U.S. and Mexico.
His other policy includes withholding funding from sanctuary cities that protect undocumented immigrants within their boundaries. This article shows ways to stop this.
Donald Trump has said he believes waterboarding works, stating “we have to fight fire with fire”.
This is called torture. Morally corrupt, inhumane, you fill in the rest of the blanks.
it seems all my emotions are wrapped up and trapped in animated gIFs.
